The vibrant city of Hyderabad recently played host to the Maker Faire, a global celebration of innovation, creativity, and the do-it-yourself (DIY) spirit. With a diverse array of makers, inventors, and tech enthusiasts converging at the event, the air was filled with excitement and a palpable sense of curiosity. Among the myriad stalls that captured the attention of the 30,000 attendees was the one proudly showcasing Blues and its cutting-edge Notecards and Notecarriers for IoT.
Unveiling the Future with Blues
At the Blues stall, visitors were introduced to the fascinating world of the Internet of Things (IoT). The Notecards and Notecarriers on display exemplified the seamless integration of technology into our everyday lives, offering a glimpse into the future of interconnected devices.
We showcased two projects that demonstrated the practical impact of their technology. Visitors were treated to a glimpse of the future, where Blues Notecards seamlessly integrated into devices for practical, life-enhancing purposes.
Indoor IoT Infection Risk Monitor with Blues and Qubitro
The first project we demonstrated was an Indoor IoT Infection Risk Monitor. This compact, travel-friendly device serves as a companion, keeping a close eye on CO2 levels in enclosed spaces. Attendees were introduced to the crucial role of monitoring CO2 exposure in mitigating infection risks, especially in these unprecedented times.
Bird Listener: A Symphony of Nature Powered by Edge Impulse and Blues
Nature enthusiasts and birdwatchers, rejoice! We presented a Bird Listener that goes beyond visual observation. This device harnesses the power of acoustics to classify bird species and sends alerts to a Slack channel, using Blues hardware and Notehub. The Bird Listener captures bird sounds and utilizes Edge Impulse's machine learning capabilities to classify the species in real-time. Once identified, an alert is seamlessly sent to a designated Slack channel, allowing enthusiasts to keep track of the diverse bird species around them.
Connecting with the Maker Community
The Maker Faire provided an invaluable platform for networking. We seized the opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals, fostering collaborations and partnerships within the thriving maker community. As makers and innovators shared their stories and experiences, the exchange of inspiration was palpable. The Blues stall became a hub for conversations about pushing the boundaries of what is possible in the world of IoT.
Thanks to everyone that joined us at Maker Faire Hyderabad 2023. The event not only celebrated the present achievements in the world of making but also set the stage for a future where creativity knows no bounds. With IoT at the forefront, Blues and other makers have illuminated a path towards a connected, inventive tomorrow.
